The scope of the Residential Conveyancing standard is to define the current information exchanges, whether direct or via third-parties, necessary between Conveyancers acting for any party, other than a mortgagee, with a legal interest in the sale or purchase of residential property in England & Wales.

Information exchanges relating to mortgages on the property being sold, or the property being purchased, are outside the scope of this Workgroup as they fall within the scope of the Lenders Conveyancing Workgroup.
