About The OSCRE Standards

The OSCRE Standards allow different systems to communicate directly, saving time and money by eliminating the need to re-enter all that data manually each time.

The standards are a contextualised set of definitions and rules that facilitate the automatic transfer of data between different software packages.

Our methodology is process centric and focuses on data exchanges within the business process, encoded using XML.
But the standard is more than a set of XML schemas.
In order to successfully communicate, parties need to agree the meanings of terminology. Our approach allows us to capture these definitions in a structured manner, independently of the final representation in XML.

Why we need Standards

The real estate industry is fragmented and very diverse. Vital performance knowledge on buildings and portfolios is often not shared. Processes remain very manual and paper dependent. This leads to high integration costs and poor productivity as the same data is re-entered into multiple database systems. Instead, managers need open, free, industry-wide digital standards to improve business analysis and enable more intelligent operations in an increasingly automated and web-based world.
