Invitation to contribute to the UK Government consultation on Open Standards

Date:
21 March, 2012

The UK Government is currently inviting people to give their views on open standards for software interoperability, data and document formats in government IT, through an online consultation on open standards. The consultation, open until 3rd May, will inform:

  • 1. The definition of open standards in the context of government IT in the UK;
  • 2. the meaning of mandation and the effects compulsory standards may have on government departments, delivery partners and supply chains; and
  • 3. International alignment and cross-border interoperability.
  • OSCRE invites you to review the consultation and to participate in the preparation of the OSCRE response. The views of Non UK Members around international alignment particularly would be of huge value, so this invitation is not limited to UK Members.

    If you are interested in contributing:

  • 1. Register with OSCRE here: Register Here
  • 2. Reserve this provisional time slot for a call to discuss the response: 3.30pm (UK time) on Wednesday 25th April
  • 3. Review the online consultation document here: online consultation on open standards
  • OSCRE would also encourage our Members to make an independent response.
